The creator of these comics, Joe Holtby, recently shared how he came up with the name for the series. He’s half Portuguese and half American, and his mother’s side of the family is from Portugal. He thought about using that name for his comics, but it sounded too silly and would probably get misspelled in Portuguese on Google. Instead, he went with “Portuguese Geese Comics” and he loves the quirky name.

Joe has been creating comics for a long time, but he didn’t start posting them online until 2015 after graduating from high school. Since then, he’s gained a following of over 15.2k on Instagram.
